2nd Piracicaba drag race in Brazil!!

Here is the latest news from the 2nd round (out of 5) of the Piracicaba drag strip in Brazil. The cars below run in the Turbo Rear Traction class.
Luiz Alberto de Souza - 1972 Fusca no. 235 - New record!! - 1/8th mile: 7.123 @ 173.7 km/h.

Luciano Pavanelli Pereira - 19?? Fusca no. 238 - 1/8th mile: 7.416 @ 163 km/h.
Waldomiro de Lima - 19?? Fusca no. 46 - 1/8th mile: 9.403 @ 90.2 km/h.

The exhaust...

Here is a comparisson between the original exhaust and the new stainless steel dimmensioned extractor exhaust that is now fitted to my Beetle!! Click on the photo for a larger version. The car now sounds much better and sportier plus there was a noticeable increase in power and torque!!

Just a reminder on the "which tacho" poll...

Hi, just a quick reminder regarding the poll on the top right corner of this blog. I need help deciding which tachometer to use and where to mount it!

Once again, the choices are:

1- in-dash, next to speedometer, for that stock look.

2- Autometer Monster 5inch tacho mounted in the middle of the dash, just under the windscreen.
