Old Bathurst racing Beetles from Australia...

Here are some shots of Bathurst racing Beetles from Australia, taken in the early 1960s.

For those of you that don't know the Bathurst race, it's a classic Australian race on a mountain circuit with two massive straights where speeds in excess of 300km/h are not uncommon! But ofcourse these Beetles never got close to those speeds :)

If you have any information regarding these classic racing Beetles from Bathurst, please let us know, partcicularly if you know what engine and modifications these cars had!

Here is another weird looking Beetle from Brazil.

V8 VW Fusca from Brasil!!

Here is a nice V8 Beetle from Brazil! Yes you read right, it's a V8!

I know it looks stock from the outside, but take a look under the engine lid and you'll find... no engine? Just a couple of radiators!

That's because the V8 engine is mounted in the boot, up the front!

The engine is a Ford 302 5.0 V8 from a brazilian Ford Maverick GT.

Even the front suspension has been upgraded!

Here's a video of the car in action. It's from a brazilian car show, so the language is in portuguese, but you can still see and hear the car running!
